David Loftus is a British, award-winning photographer, who famously has shot for Jamie Oliver and many other famous cooks – bringing their recipes to life. Loftus has photographed for over 100 books (including all but one of Jamie Oliver's books) for over 20 years. He has also directed many television adverts for UK supermarket: Sainsbury's – and many other advertising clients. He has not only shot food but has shot fashion, portraits, landscapes and reportage. He has also developed the most successful downloadable camera pack to date: the "Loftus Lens".
I am using David Loftus as inspiration for my 'The World Around Us' project because I think that food is essential to the 'world' and I would like to portray this in my project. I plan to explore different shapes, textures, lines and details within food photography. I would also like to explore colour within my developments because I would like to convey how colour can drastically affect the way that we perceive food for advertisement purposes.
