Gillian Wearing.

Gillian Wearing is an English conceptual artist who was born in Birmingham in 1963. She is most well-knon for her documentation of everyday life, particularly her work where she approached strangers on the street and asked them to write down their inner thoughts on a piece of paper, hold it up towards the camera and take an image. This project eventually led her to win the Turner Prize in 1997. This links to my theme of the world around us because it reflects on the inner thoughts of humans, and how ‘The World Around Us’ and society affects our everyday lives.
